Thawalama divisonal secretariat has organized a "Bodhi Pooja" on the 08th of February, 2024, at Divisional Secretariat premises. It will be followed by an alms-giving  on the 20th of february, at the same venue. All of you are invited to participate in these events.

The Department of Registration of Persons has announced that a program has been prepared to issue National ID cards to persons over the age of 40 who are unable to obtain a National ID card due to the absence of a birth certificate.

Accordingly, this program is scheduled to be held on 04.12.2023 at the Thawalama Divisional Secretariat. Sri Lankan citizens over 40 years of age who have permanent residence in a GramaNiladhari division, and are registered in the voter's register, who have not yet obtained a national identity card due to the absence of a birth certificate, will have the opportunity to apply for this.
